Before becoming Clutch Automotive, the Dairy Ashford location was part of Cornerstone Automotive, originally founded by Tony Gregory in 1997 and later owned by Mark Baker from 2001 to 2020. Mark earned a strong community reputation through honest service and care. In 2020, he sold the business to Matthew Schwab, a Stratford native passionate about continuing its legacy in the community he calls home.

Brien Adkins
Born in New Orleans but raised right here in the Copperfield and Katy areas, Brien Adkins brings over a decade of experience and a fresh leadership approach to our Dairy Ashford location. After earning his degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Brien returned to Houston to launch his career in automotive repair. With more than ten years in the industry, he has a deep understanding of both customer needs and team dynamics.
In search of new adventures, Brien relocated to Denver during the pandemic. However, in 2023, he was drawn back to Houston and to Clutch Automotive’s promising future. Starting as the Service Manager at Dairy Ashford, Brien quickly stepped into the role of General Manager, where he continues to foster strong relationships with customers and his team.
Outside of the shop, Brien’s life is filled with exploration. He lives with his long-term girlfriend, Kayla, and his 6-year-old stepson, Andrew. Whether it’s traveling to new destinations, hiking outdoors, or diving deep into new experiences—literally—Brien is always up for an adventure. Fun fact: he's a certified NAUI Master Diver and instructor, a skill few would guess!
